Belvidere Park District Receives Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award

Jeff Ellis & Associates, Inc. awarded the William Grady Pool of the Belvidere Park District the prestigious Platinum International Aquatic Safety Award. The award is given to aquatic facilities recognized as a model of risk management and aquatic safety and demonstrates that the facility consistently exceeds industry standards. Globally, only 10% of Ellis & Associates clients receive Platinum Recognition, in doing so Belvidere Park District establishes itself as one of the finest and safest aquatic facilities in the world.

Recognized in the aquatic industry, Belvidere Park District earned the award due to its staff setting the standard in pool safety, and epitomizing the meaning of what it takes to be a lifeguard. The international awards are presented annually to Ellis & Associates clients who participate in the organization’s Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Program. Facilities receive grades based upon multiple unannounced Aquatic Facility Operational Safety Audits completed at random times throughout the year. These audits include undercover video surveillance of each lifeguard. The audit concludes with administrative, supervisory and facility evaluations.

Additionally, this past summer Belvidere Park District lifeguards Maddie Visser and Lauren Slintak received Ellis’ highest honor, by receiving the Golden Guard award. A Golden Guard award is a rare achievement and is handed down by an auditor that observes a guard that epitomizes everything that Ellis stands for and classifies them as a perfect lifeguard. Belvidere Park District strives to provide the highest level of service in its parks, facilities, and programs through accessibility and safety.
