NASR-Belvidere offers a wide-variety of opportunities to help individuals who are in need of financial assistance. We greatly appreciate the support of the Boone County Community, current NASR-Belvidere families, and many friends that our program has made the past 6 years. Below is a list of the fundraising opportunities that you can volunteer to help with, attend, or give a donation.

  • Gregory’s Gift
  • New Horizons Adult Day Program

Operation Pop Machine

Camp Horizon and Club Horizon Participants own and operate a pop machine located in the lobby of the Administration Building. Proceeds from the pop machine go towards activities and supplies for Camp & Club Horizon.

New Horizons Rummage Sales

Rummage Sales are held 2 times per year at the New Horizons Facility. Participants of the Adult Day Program collect donation items for the sales, sort, price, and man the rummage sales. The proceeds of the sales go towards offsetting the costs of trip/outings that the group plans.

Applebee’s Pancake Breakfasts

Staff and participants sell tickets for $5 each and host 2 events per year at Applebee’s in Belvidere. Ticket holders come to the Applebee’s on the date set forth and enjoy a pancake breakfast while being waited on by NASR-Belvidere staff, participants, and family members. All proceeds of one event goes towards New Horizons Scholarship Fund and the other event goes towards operation pop machine needs.

Pictures with Santa and the Easter Bunny

Staff and participants run the Pictures with Santa at the Hometown Christmas Celebration in December at the Boone County Community Building. Proceeds go towards New Horizons activities. During the Spring, staff run the Pictures with the Easter Bunny at Belvidere Park District’s Spring Fling Carnival. Proceeds go towards Camp & Club special activities.

Send a Kid “with Special Needs” Camp Moonlight Bowling

The staff at NASR-Belvidere host a Moonlight Bowling Fundraiser each year at the Cherry Bowl in Cherry Valley. Couples come out for a night of fun with friends and family to bowl the night away. There is a silent auction, door prizes, 50/50 raffle, and a goodie bag that includes a t-shirt for each participant. All proceeds benefit the Gregory’s Gift Scholarship Fund.

Belvidere Park District is a 501(c)3 organization through the Belvidere Parks and Conservation Foundation. All donations are tax deductible. If you would like to donate to any of the above or to a specific participant, please contact Katie Humphrey at 815-547-5711 x14 or
